Well, this is certainly starting to get interesting.
“While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the bureau,” Mr. Trump said in a letter dated Tuesday to Mr. Comey.
“It is essential that we find new leadership for the F.B.I. that restores public trust and confidence in its vital law enforcement mission,” Mr. Trump wrote.
Trump is likely using Comey’s misleading statements about the nature of the eleventh-hour re-opening of the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails as a major factor. At least that’s how I see the WH spinning it. Regardless, Trump can now appoint somebody friendlier to the WH, which will undoubtedly affect the ongoing investigation into Trump’s alleged ties to Russia.

Update: But don’t worry, Comey’s firing is not political.
“The FBI’s reputation and credibility have suffered substantial damage, and it has affected the entire Department of Justice,” [Deputy Attorney General, Rod] Rosenstein wrote. “I cannot defend the director’s handling of the conclusion of the investigation of Secretary Clinton’s emails, and I do not understand his refusal to accept the nearly universal judgment that he was mistaken. Almost everyone agrees that the director made serious mistakes; it is one of the few issues that unites people of diverse perspectives.” ( !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! )

Who’s in the running, Flynn or Kushner?

I knew it would only be a matter of time. There was no way Trump was going to let the Hillary investigation slide. Even worse with Comey leading an investigation on relations with Russia.

I am guessing he is going to appoint one of his kids to run the FBI?

At this point, absolutely nothing would surprise me. At the least, it will be one of his personal flacks who won’t investigate his alleged Russia ties.

Pick your favorite Trump henchman. Anybody who will stop the investigation into Trump’s alleged ties with Russia.

Comey should probably keep a polonium detector around, knowing the associates of this wonderful regime. Kicked to the curb, that’s gratitude from baby Huey.

They are skipping the parts where Nixon cared about the environment and healthcare. Trump just gives us the comically villainous parts of Nixon.

Now let’s be honest here: wasn’t there a lot of people back in November, people that perhaps were enraged about a certain announcement of an investigation right before the election, that wanted Comey fired?
Because it seems like the people at Gizmodo have always loved him and are mad that he was fired.

Sure, but they wanted him fired for (potentially) affecting the outcome of the election, not for failing to prosecute somebody. Which brings up an interesting question: Will the new head of the FBI try to have Hillary indicted?
![]() 05/09/2017 at 20:50 |

Do we really know that’s the reason why he was fired?

The White House said Mr. Sessions and the deputy attorney general, Rod J. Rosenstein, pushed for Mr. Comey’s dismissal.
“I cannot defend the director’s handling of the conclusion of the investigation of Secretary Clinton’s emails,” Mr. Rosenstein wrote in another letter that was released by the White House, “and I do not understand his refusal to accept the nearly universal judgment that he was mistaken.”
